The International Police (Interpol) Receive CARSI Equipment Donation

San Jose-June 22, 2010

In ongoing efforts to support local law enforcement officials and promote police professionalization, the US Embassy donated $31,000 in equipment to the International Police. The donation included a dozen laptop computers, four desktop computers, one color printer, one fax machine, a GPS system, five digital cameras, five video cameras, a telescope and tripod, two bicycles, two portable voice recorders and numerous other items. 

Additional equipment will be delivered to Interpol in the coming weeks, bringing the total value of the donation to $54,000. Director of the Judicial Investigative Unit, Jorge Rojas received the donation on behalf of Interpol. This donation is part of the Central American Regional Security Initiative (CARSI).
